About The Author
Welcome! I’m Dr. Sam, and I tell stories through the eyes of the children who lived them.
My book, Where Are All My Toys?, is based on my family’s experience when my older brother, Jimmy, was just five years old. Without understanding why, he had to leave his home, his toys, his routines, and his whole world and begin a completely new life far from everything he knew.
From a child’s perspective, such a sudden change is filled with fear, uncertainty, and unanswered questions.
My goal is to help young readers understand what it feels like when life shifts overnight, while reassuring them that with support, love, and patience, things can become steady again.
As Jimmy and our parents built a new life in America, the confusion slowly faded, and a sense of safety and hope returned.
That emotional journey is at the heart of my storytelling.
